Lightning rod tower is a lattice steel lightning protection tower. Lightning wires are mounted on the cross-arms at the top to form a shielding belt against direct lightning strikes. Lightning current is conducted through the tower body to the grounding network for large‑area lightning defense.

Features

Lightning rod tower is mainly divided into self-supporting type and guyed type. Made of Q235B / Q355B angle steel or round steel, available in heights from 5 m to 60 m. The protection scope is calculated according to the rolling‑sphere method. Comply with GB 50057 and IEC 62305 lightning protection standards.

On-site acceptance: Check component appearance and galvanizing quality. Grounding resistance test after installation: ≤4Ω for hazardous sites; ≤10Ω for general sites.

Q: What is the difference between lightning rod tower and lightning mast?

A: Lightning rod tower uses overhead lightning wires to form a continuous shielding belt for large-area & long-distance protection. Lightning mast adopts top air-terminal for single-point protection. Lightning rod tower is more suitable for substations, chemical plants and PV stations needing wide‑range lightning defense.

Q: What steel material options are available for your lightning‑wire tower?

A: We supply Q235B and Q355B steel as main material. Tower height, wind pressure, ice load and local climate will determine the proper steel grade. Both can be hot-dip galvanized for anti-corrosion. Custom material requirement is acceptable.
